We are seeking a radiographer or technologist with significant experience in NM and PET/CT, who will contribute positively and enthusiastically to the professional running and future development of the department. The post is suitable for a radiographer or technologist who is keen to experience a wide range of specialties and keen to support and develop the 7 day service whilst working with state of the art equipment and optimising image techniques across clinical and research fields.
The post will require the individual to take a lead on audit within the modalities to help support the modality lead and superintendents develop the services, whilst working with state of the art equipment and optimising image techniques across clinical and research fields.
The Churchill Radiology Department is within the Cancer and Haematology Centre, opened in 2009. Primarily, we provide imaging services across the specialities found on site: Oncology, Radiotherapy, Breast, Renal, Urology, Transplantation, Chest Medicine, upper and lower GI, Head and Neck, Haematology and Infectious Diseases.
The PET/CT department provide imaging services to a large catchment area across the south of England, the NM department as well as providing a wide variety of diagnostic service also provide a therapy service in collaboration with the oncology and medical physics teams.
Imaging services on site includes; 2 GE CT scanners and GE 1.5 and 3T MRI, 2 PET/CT scanners, 2 Gamma Camera’s including SPECT CT, 4 ultrasound rooms, a Lithotripsy unit, two flat plate interventional rooms, and 5 DR GE Definium 8000 rooms. A New Digital PET/CT scanner is to be installed in the near future and both Gamma Cameras are due to be replaced in the next 12 months.
This role will also offer the individual the opportunity to work with a team of research radiographers that work throughout the radiology department to support over 300 research trials in conjunction with outside organisations including CRUK and Oxford University.
Applicants must have a significant experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT. Opportunities are available for personal and professional development and as the service develops there will a requirement to support weekend services.
