Are you a senior Microbiologist looking to work with a global Medical Technologies organisation?
We are working with a leader in woundcare products and as a result of increased workload, they have a vacancy within their microbiology department. We are looking for a Microbiology Team Leader who will manage a small team of R&D Scientists, take responsibility for the daily technical operation of the microbiology laboratory and oversee the R&D testing schedules. They will also ensure all microbiological testing, processes, methods and validation exercises conform to internal procedures, reflect applicable regulations/guidelines and meet industry best practice. Key responsibilities to include:
- Co-ordinating and leading microbiological testing, including the design and development of antimicrobial and antibiofilm test models to support Advanced Wound Care and Continence Care R&D projects, and marketing campaign initiatives.
- Reviewing and approving technical data/test results/protocols/reports/compliance records/laboratory investigations.
- Troubleshooting issues as they occur in the microbiology laboratory and managing deficiencies, OOS's, non-conformances and failures with respect to equipment, procedures, processes, and test methods within the laboratory.
- Ensuring microbiology equipment is fully qualified (IQ/OQ/PQ) to expected standards; supports software validation activities as and when required.
The successful Microbiology Team Leader will have working knowledge and understanding of compliance with FDA and European regulations relating to Quality Systems (preferably ISO13485:2016, ISO9001:2015, FDA 21 CFR part 820 or equivalent), GMP and GDP. Working knowledge and experience of microbiology related pharmacopeial/ISO standards and experience of supervising microbiologists is also required for this role.
