Summary

Qualified Nurse/ ODP - Scrub

Due to the expansion of our theatre service and the development of Salford Royal as the major trauma centre exciting opportunities have arisen for scrub practitioners within the surgical scrub teams. We are seeking a highly motivated and professional practitioner to join our expanding team within Perioperative Care.

At Salford we currently have 19 theatres over 2 floors covering Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, Renal, Pain Service, ENT, Neuro X Ray, MR Scan, General, Upper and Lower GI, Orthopaedic and we provide a dedicated 24 hour Emergency service.

You will have the opportunity to rotate through all the speciality areas and gain a wealth of experience in all areas of both elective and emergency surgery. We are looking for team members who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and demonstrate team working, with a high standard of organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

You will be proactive in providing a seamless service to all patients during their theatre journey and will have the ability to support all junior staff and students.

You will be required to be flexible, highly motivated and an enthusiastic practitioner to join our existing teams.

This is an exciting opportunity and we need committed individuals who feel they can provide leadership to improve the quality of patient care and staff experience whilst safely reducing costs.

You will be capable of making informed clinical decisions, often in complex situations.

You will need to be particularly committed to the key role of educating, empowering and supporting people in the theatre environment showing excellent leadership and people management skills

The off duty covers a 7 day week using early and late shifts running from 07:30 to 20:00 hours. Due to the nature of the specialities variation to shift patterns may be required; some rotation onto nights will be a future development. Shift patterns can be discussed at interview.

We are committed to lifelong learning through our learning and development team.

If you feel you have the people skills and necessary qualities to become part of a forward thinking and innovative thinking team, with an ambition to deliver the best theatre services in the UK, and wish to work in a CQC ‘Excellent’ rated hospital, and major trauma centre for Manchester we would like to hear from you.

Our overseas OSCE programme is currently under review therefore unfortunately we are not in a position to support internationally trained nurses with the NMC registration process. If you are an internationally trained nurse, your application will only be considered if you have completed your OSCE and have had your UK NMC registration confirmed.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
