Cambridge J1 is a 20 bedded Respiratory Unit looking after all aspects of Non-Invasive Ventilation. We were at the frontline during Covid, looking after patients with COPD, Bipap’s, CPAP’s, Chest Drains etc. As an acute busy area you will learn all aspects of respiratory nursing, also looking after patients with Cystic Fibrosis and all stepdown patients from ITU including those with tracheostomies with continuing acute needs. We see some of our patients regularly, due to the speciality of the illness, and get to know the families and the patient very well.

To provide effective patient care whilst working as a member of the nursing team across East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT). To ensure the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs.

The post will require the holder to work on other sites within EKHUFT, in order to meet service requirements and to ensure that staff maintain and develop their skills.
