Summary



What's involved with this role:

Enhanced DBS disclosure required

Minute taking skills required

Greet clients and to provide reception services, including dealing with enquiries, taking messages and processing bookings.

To provide confidential general administrative support to the Children’s Centre, including answering telephone enquiries, diary management, arrangement of meetings, maintaining records, filing and photocopying.

To undertake a range of IT-based office tasks, including word processing documents, completing spreadsheets, maintaining databases and producing promotional and presentation materials.

To attend meetings, take minutes, circulate documents and follow up action as necessary.

To prepare refreshments and provide resources as necessary for meetings and other activities taking place in the Children’s Centre or on other sites used by the service.

To help prepare rooms for service providers and to help clear up after.

To undertake occasional general duties in the children’s rooms, including assisting the staff with the preparation and clearing up of activities for children and collating children’s records.

To provide cover for the Business Administrator during periods of absence.

To develop and adapt the post in accordance with service needs and to undertake any other duties which may become necessary to ensure the successful running of the service.

Our clients are generally seeking applicants who are reasonably local, so on that basis we would ideally like you to supply us with your address (or at least your post code) and a telephone number so that we can reach you during working hours.
Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.
Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice.
A DBS disclosure is listed as a requirement for this role; however the level of disclosure has not been specified by the client.
Minimum of 12 months recent reception and administration experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation
Previous minute taking experience
ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite)
