**Job Title ** Personal Assistant
**Location ** Abby Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent
**Day/Times** Monday- Sunday
**Hours** 21 Hours Per Week (approx. 6 weeks of the year old)
**Rate of pay** £8.91 weekdays; weekends; bank holidays
I am 32 years old with a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, because of my condition I tire easily and in a lot of pain. I have a 6-month-old daughter and 2 other children aged 11 and 6 who live with me. My main issues are my mobility and rely on aids to support me, the OT from the council helps me and I have physio currently. I have PA already working for me which has enabled me to have some independence and control of my life again however I require another PA to cover as and when she is unable to on a had hoc arrangement coving annual leave and potential sickness.
**Purpose of the Job**
To support and engage with myself with all aspects of my daily living furthermore supporting me in maintaining my parental role to my children which in turn provide me with some independence and control.
**Personal Care Assistant Specification**
The personal assistant must be reliable and able to work flexible hours and to have respect for my privacy and confidentiality. It is essential the PA has a positive attitude to maintain the positive wellbeing of myself.
The PA needs to be positive, respectful & have a good sense of humour whilst always remaining vigilant and professional.
The PA needs to be friendly & committed, with good interactive skills. The aim is to establish an enjoyable, trusting, & long-term working relationship.
The person may have experience in working with young people with disabilities, but it is essential that you are a caring person with an abundance of common sense.
The PA needs to be aware of the risks & dangers to the young person & respond appropriately to any emergency.
They must also understand the need for confidentiality in all areas of work.
The personal assistants do need to be in good health and have the physical skilfulness of moving, handling, pushing, and bending.
The personal assistants are directed and accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.

* To support with preparation of meals and drinks
* To support with cleanliness of my property
* To support me with my parenting role for example accompany me in collecting my children to and from school
* To support and supervise with any chosen social activity inside and outside of the home
**There will be times when I will require my PA to enable me to carry out any chosen activity or meet any other requests, whether inside or outside my home, which I may reasonably make.**
