Advanced Clinical Exercise Instructor
About the role:
A vacancy has arisen for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Lifestyle Medicine Co-ordinator with experience of working with varied client groups. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical exercise and a range of therapeutic physical activities to clients of The South London & Maudsley NHS Trust in a variety of exercise environments. It would be advantageous for the post-holder to have experience, or knowledge of a variety of teaching modes including some complementary therapies.
Now is an exciting time to be part of the clinical exercise and physical activity lifestyle medicine program. This is an evidence based course that has been specifically designed by Clinical Exercise for use within the NHS and is a popular addition to the services that we provide to staff and patients. The post holder will deliver and co-ordinate our innovative Lifestyle Medicine course.
Due to the unique nature of the Lifestyle Medicine course, full in-house training will be provided which will suit an individual who favours a more holistic approach to physical activity.

As a long-standing service, Clinical Exercise has an expanding portfolio which delivers specialist clinical exercise and physical activity services to all inpatient wards and we also provide an evidence based lifestyle medicine training course to all boroughs across the trust. We are particularly proud of our Physical Activity and Lifestyle Medicine (PALM) training course which is innovative, bespoke and very well received by clinicians who participate.
You will work alongside a more experienced supervisor and will be part of a small team of exercise specialists but working as part of the broader multidisciplinary team.

About the location:
The Bethlem site is situated on a large mostly open site with football pitches a tennis court, a stream which circumvents the periphery, surrounded by woodland.
