Summary

New Directions is looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to work with a young woman we support in her own home in the Clifton upon Dunsmore area of Rugby
£9.46 per hour and paid training
You will need a minimum of Level 2 Health & Social Care for this role.

About me
I am 35 years old and I live with my mum and dad.
I have complex communication difficulties which I need support with, but I am physically independent and love to get out and about.
I love animals, especially horses, going to parks, swimming, people watching and laughing with my friends.
On a bad day I may not want to shower. I may not want to go somewhere or I may panic and hold onto the wall. A patient, reassuring kind voice can talk me round.
Routine is very important for me and I really look forward to my support workers coming to my home to take me out.
On rainy days I may stay in so I have a plan for a good day and a plan for a bad day, this helps me. This information is in my support plan.

How to support me
This is a supportive as well as personal care role that requires motivational, emotional, physical, personal and organisational skills.
I require my support worker to be vigilant when out and about. My health, tiredness and stress can affect my concentration, which affects my mobility.

The person I am looking for
Female Senior support worker
Car driver
Punctual, as routine is very important
To be patient with me
To be able to adapt to the changing needs of the role
A willingness to learn how to support me by role modelling from my current support workers
Possess a positive attitude and a good sense of humour
