We are seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation to people in Lambeth who are under the care of the community mental health team

About the team

You will join a team of experienced colleagues within the multi disciplinary team and have the opportunity to work closely with other occupational therapists within the neighbourhood and borough. Changes over the last 2 years have seen the development of integrated and innovative pathways of care for people with mental health needs. The team comprises of psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, psychologists and support workers.

About the Role

This will include specialist occupational therapy assessment, planning and intervention to promote well being, recovery and person centred practice. Although this is a dedicated occupational therapist post, the successful applicant will be required to hold and integrate both the occupational therapy specific and generic elements of their job whilst e.g. care coordination for service users predominantly receiving occupational therapy. The post holder will participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of both the occupational therapy and multi disciplinary team interventions, as required, to promote a recovery focused service. The team are committed to working in partnership with service users and carers as well as partnerships with primary care and voluntary sector.
