Junior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery
Applications are invited for the above post to start August 2021 for a period of 12 months with a possible extension thereafter subject to mutual consent.
Manchester Royal Infirmary is a major teaching hospital situated next to the campus of the Manchester Medical School and Manchester University. The Department of General Surgery carries out a broad spectrum of open and laparoscopic surgery in the Colorectal, HPB and General Surgery Teams.
The post is suitable for candidates who wish to gain experience prior to applying for specialty training. There are excellent opportunities to engage in audit and research projects and publications. Although the post is not approved for training, the post holder will be supported in their professional development and will gain excellent clinical experience.
The post-holder will participate on the surgical full shift system between 8.00am to 8.30pm on a 1:12 with prospective cover. In addition, these posts contribute to a 1:12 week of nights (8.00pm to 8.30am) system cross covering with General Surgery and Vascular (on both day and night on-calls).
