Associate Public Health Practitioner (Community Nursery Nurse) - Band 4

We are please to offer a fixed term contract for 1 year as an Associate Public Health Practitioner based with the Public Health Nursing team at the Pat Lewis Centre in Dacorum, Hertfordshire.

This is an exciting time to be joining our team as we move forward with our integrated approach to delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to all our families.

As an Associate Public Health Practitioner, you will share responsibility for the delivery of the universal Healthy Child Programme Reviews (HCP) on a 1 to 1 basis, whilst we complete our catch up programme of reviews that were suspended due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

You will also support the Public Health Nurses in identifying children and families who need additional support and be able to offer a targeted intervention which may include for example, breast feeding support, sleeping difficulties, behaviour problems, speech and language support, healthy eating and continence/soiling

You will be able to facilitate health promotion discussions and deliver activities in a variety of settings.

You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate in a sensitive and appropriate manner with children, families and other professionals.

You will be able to provide parents, early years settings and family support centres with advice, training and awareness on health related matters as appropriate with support and guidance from the Public Health Nurses.

Successful applicants will have a planned induction programme and will receive any additional training required for the role. You will be supported with regular Restorative and Safeguarding supervision.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,034 and a maximum payment of £1,791 per annum (pro rata).

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
