Our Technical Cardiology team at NUH is expanding. There is an opening for a Highly Specialist Invasive Cardiac Physiologist [Band 7]. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Invasive Cardiac Physiologist to take the next step in their career. The successful applicant will join our dynamic and progressive team of physiologists and MDT that provide patient treatment and care in PCI (inc. OCT, IVUS, rotablation, pressure wire and Shockwave) and device implant and follow-up (inc. clinics and remote follow-up). There is scope to pursue interests in structural heart disease procedures such as TAVI and PFO closure and EP (inc. 3D mapping and VT ablation). Our team will support your professional development including BHRS and IBHRE certifications.

The post holder will work as a key member of the Invasive Cardiology Physiology Team. They will work within the Invasive Cardiology team delivering a professional service, which meets the needs of the Directorate, and the general clinical needs of the Trust.
• Undertake highly specialised physiological tests on patients to inform clinical diagnostic and support treatment.
• Undertake advanced physiological tests and procedures.
• Provide clinical supervision and training of trainee staff and other professionals
• Support cardiac physiologists working in all areas providing assistance and troubleshooting as required
• Contribute to departmental development, training programmes and organisation both in short and long term

The post holder may be expected to work across both Trust sites.

Participation in the departments on call rota is mandatory for this post.

NUH comprises of two sites. Cardiology care is based on City Hospital Campus, with outreach support provided to Queen’s Medical Centre campus.

We have 3 designated cardiac catheter labs and two designated pacing clinics based on the City Hospital campus. As well as offering a full range of cardiac procedures we are a leading centre in the remote follow-up of cardiac devices performing over 12,000 device checks per year
