What's involved with this role:

You will lead the production and development of a number of statistical /information services and obtain, analyse, interpret and publish information relating to COVID-19

Provide specialised advice on epidemiology, health intelligence, health data sets, research, survey design and questionnaire design.
Prepare and contribute to reports, which will vary in length and complexity, ranging from informal summaries to detailed comprehensive reports, summarising these reports and disseminate their findings
Support a joint research work programme to increase the number of decisions made across all Council departments, partner agencies and the wider community which are grounded in valid intelligence and resources are appropriately targeted to local needs.
Contribute to the specialist Public Health advice provided to South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group through the Core Offer
Communicate, establish and maintain relationships with agencies relating to the project, members of the Public Health Team, Public Health England Health protection team and a range of other groups or individuals seeking help, advice or information on epidemiology, statistics, statistical methods, research, survey and/or questionnaire design related to public health.

Our clients are generally seeking applicants who are reasonably local, so on that basis we would ideally like you to supply us with your address (or at least your post code) and a telephone number so that we can reach you during working hours.
Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.
Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice.
Relevant professional or equivalent degree level qualification or you will have equivalent relevant experience.
Have significant working knowledge and experience within an organisation, delivering similar services with extensive knowledge and be able to demonstrate your contributing to developing processes, procedures and projects.
Able to work flexibly, cope with competing demands through good time management and work under pressure.
Experience in monitoring and reporting on budgets, financial information and resources. Good level of general IT skills and the ability to use appropriate specialist in-house software packages.
Good analytical, numeracy and reasoning skills, able to understand and interpret complex data and provide solutions and recommendations to achieve appropriate outcomes, with good report writing skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills for persuading, influencing and be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite)
