A Vacancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Care Coordinator - North East London Neonatal Units

The London Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is hosted by the Evelina London Children's Hospital, part of the Guy's & St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. The ODN is mandated by NHS England to improve outcomes for London's neonates. Supported by the host organisation the Neonatal ODN brings together the London provider organisations, clinicians, expert managers, NHS England and NHS Improvement and service users to coordinate patient pathways to improve access to specialist neonatal resources.

In 2019 NHS England outlined their commitment to improve the parental experience of neonatal care in The Long Term Plan. Placing families at the heart of their baby's care, they will be supported through the healthcare system by dedicated Care Coordinators, who will work alongside local clinical teams to support the delivery of Family Integrated Care (FiC).

The London Neonatal ODN is seeking to a Care Coordinator to turn this vision into everyday practice. These new and exciting role offers opportunities to support implementation of the network strategy to improve and enhance Family Integrated Care across the network. The post holder will link in with the London Parent Advisory Group and coordinate key staff to support local work, fostering a culture where Family Integrated Care is embedded in practice.

Post holders will work across the neonatal units of North East London to implement Family Integrated Care locally, and will work towards the improvement of accommodation and facilities and support available to parents and families during their inpatient stay and through transition to home, neonatal outreach and or paediatric services.

Applications are welcomed from the following staff groups/professions;
• Registered General Nurses or Registered Midwife, with extensive experience on a Neonatal Unit; OR
• Allied Health Professionals with previous experience in the provision and delivery of neurodevelopmental therapy services in a neonatal setting

Please refer to the person specification for further requirements.

The role is offered on a fixed term appointment of 24 months with the potential for extension. Secondments/job share are also welcome. The Care Coordinator will be supported by the network Lead Care Coordinator and network Lead Nurse.
