An opportunity has arisen for appointment to the role of Practice Learning Facilitator to support the safe use of medicines in health and social care.

Within the North West, we are looking to recruit a Practice Learning Facilitator (PLF) to support the safe use of medicines in health and social care.

This is an excellent development opportunity and the role will enable the successful candidate to work as part of the team to support the important agenda of reducing harm from medicines in health and social care settings.

We are looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician with significant experience supporting the safe use of medicines in health and social care settings to support the work within the North School of Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation.

You will:

-work with a range of stakeholders to develop an electronic competency assessment tool for medicines administration for health and social care staff

- Engage and network with health and social care teams across the region to embed the electronic competency assessment tool

- Develop other educational resources to support the safe use of medicines in health and social care settings

You will be required to demonstrate professional leadership and teamwork skills along with providing expertise, advice and support.

Applicants should be registered pharmacy technicians and will need prior experience in developing and delivering education and training interventions for health and social care staff and must have excellent communication and presentation skills. The applicant should be able to work to a high level, working both independently and as part of a team at both a local and regional level.

Candidates can be based anywhere in the North West but should expect to travel across the region and able to attend the HEE office if required (e.g. Liverpool, Manchester). Please note that during COVID restrictions, alternative options are fully supported.

Applicants from within the NHS will be offered this role on a secondment basis only, agreement should be obtained from their employer prior to submitting the application.

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 6 with a full-time starting salary of £31,365, with pay step increases as after 2 years’ service and 5 years' service.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
