Summary

Our WARD MANAGER role involves:

Being a clear leader for the Nursing team and managing shifts
Providing high quality care for adult patient
Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement.
Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team
Promoting professional development within the team.
To develop a culture of learning from lessons on the ward and encourage delivery of a professional service.
To lead the team by being a positive role model in all aspects of the work.
To ensure care and treatment is delivered in collaboration with the patient and carer.
To provide direction, support and guidance to the staff ensuring all staff have regular supervisions.

To be responsible for the quality of care delivered and that all compliance requirements are met.
