We currently have the following vacancy:
Specialist Radiographer – CT Band 6
1.0 wte full time
We have an attractive opportunity for a radiographer with excellent clinical skills. We will consider experienced staff or appropriately motivated members of staff with less experience and work through a thorough in house training program.
You will become a valuable member of a team of specialist radiographers delivering a quality led and timely CT service.
Successful candidates will work on our six GE CT scanners including the GE Revolution (ED Trauma scanner). We are currently in the process of changing our cardiac scanner with a top of the range replacement which will allow us to develop advanced practice roles in the future. As the region’s major trauma center we perform a huge variety of scans that include daily cardiac lists, Trauma scanning, CT colonography, CT drainages and biopsies.
CT radiographers perform i.v injections and you will be trained to do this if not already competent.
There is a CPD calendar with active participation from imaging staff and we support and encourage radiographers in their career development. We have 5 CT radiographers undertaking independent CT head reporting. The department takes student radiographers from Exeter University and Plymouth University, and is a training site for Radiologists, meaning that teaching is a core part of the CT Radiographers role.
Our scanners operate extended days, and there is also a commitment to this post for weekends and nights.
We appreciate that having a good work life balance is vital. That is why our shift system was developed with our staff to offer both flexibility and stability. The system is a mix of 3 long shifts (11.5 hours) and a week of short day shifts (7.5 hours).
If you would like further details about this post or an informal visit, please contact Colin Stuckey, Lead CT Radiographer on 01752 432609 or Diana Nicholson, Principal Radiographer on 01752 432469.
We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
