Our Urgent Response Team is expanding, we can offer full or part time hours and great training opportunities!

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated nurses to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team operating as an admission avoidance and facilitated discharge service in Southampton.

The Urgent Response Service is a multidisciplinary service working in partnership with other social and healthcare providers. The service has expanded to provide a Home IV Service to support early discharge from University Hospitals Southampton (UHS) for patients requiring IV Antibiotics and do not need to remain in hospital and support. The role also includes rotation into the Community Emergency Department Team.

As a team member you will work with your multidisciplinary colleagues providing complex assessment, clinical monitoring, treatment and therapy to provide recovery, (ensuring the care we deliver is evidence based holistic care), to enable patients who are acutely unwell to remain at home.

The role will allow individuals to gain experience to refine their managerial and clinical skills within the team. Support and supervision will be structured and provided by the Band 7 staff and Clinical Lead and will include peer review and training. Your role will be key to the performance of the team as it comes at a time of development and your drive and enthusiasm will help support this delivery.

There are opportunities for networking with UHS colleagues and ultimately supporting flow of patients to be cared for in their own homes. There are training opportunities for courses such as History Taking and Physical Assessment, as well as cannulation and IV training.

Applicants will need to demonstrate advanced person-centered assessment skills to support clients with multiple pathology and complex health and social care needs.

As the successful candidate will be managing and developing staff members you will need effective interpersonal skills and show leadership skills to support flexible and positive approach to problem solving. The staff member will be required to work shifts over a seven day period between 08:00 and 22:00.
