We can offer you:
• A supportive, friendly team of speech and language therapy colleagues
• A newly re-furbished bright, clean and homely office space to come back to at the end of each day where you will have opportunities to get informal support
• An identified buddy who will meet with you every week at first to help you settle in and who you can ask lots of questions
• Regular supervision meetings with a senior therapist every 6 weeks where you can get further support and advice, along with an annual appraisal
• Termly peer supervision meetings where you can discuss difficult cases, read articles together and share your experiences
• A busy but manageable caseload across a range of schools with a wide range of children/young people
• Opportunities for remote working in school using a laptop with Lync phone facilities as well as access to online clinical records
• Opportunities to develop your clinical skills and knowledge through termly study afternoons, shadowing more experienced therapists, membership of a CEN, opportunities to invite a senior therapist for a joint consultation

Band 5 – Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist – 37.5 hours a week
• You will be responsible for the assessment and therapy for the children attending your allocated schools who have identified SLCN needs including: developmental language disorder, speech difficulties, stammering, selective mutism, learning difficulties and ASD
• You will have the opportunity to work directly with the children in groups and individually with an LSA observing the sessions in order to carry out follow up work
• You will offer training, advice and support to school staff
• You will support parents and keep in regular touch with them via termly phone calls or meetings, as well as sending them copies of termly care plans and targets and any reports
• You will jointly set and review targets/ care plans with school staff /parents
• You will jointly plan how to use your time in schools with the SENCO; allowing you to be flexible, creative and effective
• You will contribute to audits etc in order to provide evidence that the service being provided is being effective

• Good relationships with parents – 92.5% of parents report that they are happy or very happy with the service. A parent representative attends all of the mainstream schools meetings and parent feedback is sought for new developments
• Good outcome measures with children making progress on 94% of the targets set for them each term and positive Teacher Reported Outcome Measures
• An annual service improvement plan in order to ensure that the service is continually evolving and developing
• A strong track record on innovation and service development
