An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at one of the leading hospitals in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer. The candidate will work within the Specimen dissection team in line with current Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) guidelines to dissect pathological specimens from both Breast and Soft Tissue Sarcoma. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient throughput of cases by means of appropriate allocation of staff resources, adherence to stringent quality control mechanisms and assisting in the design and development of new working practices in conjunction with Laboratory Management.
A large proportion of the dissection workload will include Breast and Soft Tissue Sarcoma dissection although other specialities will also be supported. These specimens are complex and require a good understanding of anatomy. If you are an enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist with experience in Histological Dissection and working within a dissection team then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. It would be desirable for the candidate to hold the IBMS/RCPath Diploma of expert practice in Histological Dissection however, full training will be provided.
