RAF Brize Norton is the largest station in the Royal Air Force with approximately 7600 personnel – a combination of military, civilian and supporting contractors, together maintaining the highly operational output of both regular and reserve units. The Station is home to the RAF's Strategic and Tactical Air Transport (AT) and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) forces, as well as host to many lodger units and personnel from all armed services. With it’s mixed fleet of aircraft RAF Brize Norton provides rapid global mobility in support of UK overseas Operations and Exercises, as well as AAR support for fast jet aircraft both on Operations and in support of UK Homeland Defence. The AP custodian role entails maintenance and control of the 47 Squadron's AP libraries including management of amendments. As the AESO manager, the responsibilities would be to manage the squadron's portfolio of aviation engineering standing orders (AESOs) and pre-printed maintenance work orders (PPMWOs) ensuring control and effective communication of amendments.

Liaise with Station Forms and Publication Store (SPFS) regularly; SPFS issue the amendments to the APs which are held forward
Ensure that any AP amendments or re-issues are collected from SPFS or other agencies in a timely manner following notification of their issue.
Ensure that all APs held remain in a good condition and replace or repair as necessary. To ensure that all APs are regularly checked for condition, ensure that a system is in place to periodically remove onboard APs (loan card 47), for example during P+ which is carried out annually.
Management and tracking of AESO amendments ensuring the progression of any changes.
Management and tracking of PPMWO amendments ensuring the progression of any changes.
