Band 7 Senior Biomedical Scientist

North West London Pathology

Rapid Molecular Service

Fixed term contract 18 months

North West London Pathology (NWLP) is a new partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust. The partnership represents a new model for delivering pathology testing in a modern, efficient operation that manages 25 million tests per year. Our services are delivered at six hospital sites across North West London.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to be a part of our expanding rapid COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses molecular service. The service is provided from all 6 of our sites; Microbiology laboratory at the Charing Cross hub, and the 5 spoke site Blood Science laboratories situated at St. Marys, Hammersmith, Chelsea & Westminster, West Middlesex or Hillingdon hospital.

You will be leading on the set up and expansion of the service, overseeing verification of newly introduced assays as well as staff training. You will be required to travel between sites to support the staff and the service, managing and developing the service further. You will also manage the stock requirements for all assays.

Previous leadership skills and organisational skills at this level is essential. You will need to be flexible with and able to quickly and effectively respond to changes or issues. Experience of verification and training is essential. Full training will be provided on the analysers.

HCPC registration is essential.
