Summary

Cornwall IT Services are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated person to join our Web Development Team and will suit someone with an interest in IT and web development who wants to kick-start their career in this area.

The post will initially be offered for a period of 24 months, the duration of the apprenticeship.

You will work towards completing a Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship with a particular focus on the necessary skills required in web development. This will be provided through one of our specialist training providers. Whilst training the successful candidate will gain the skills required (amongst other things) to be able to deliver web content and maintain the existing WordPress-based Internet and Intranet sites. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of a new Cornwall-wide Document Library and Intranet based on the Microsoft SharePoint system.

The successful candidate will need to meet the minimum qualification level to embark on the Level 4 apprenticeship or have relevant experience in a similar role. Experience within the NHS would be an advantage but not essential. The ideal candidate will have some Web Design or Programming experience. Excellent existing general IT Skills are a must have.

The successful candidate will need to possess excellent communication skills and must be able to work under pressure. This person must be able to work independently and must be able to use their own initiative. It is essential for this person to be able to be comfortable working with all disciplines within the organisation and have a positive attitude to work well as part of the team.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.
