Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Band 6
Full time/37.50 hours per week
Fixed Term ending November 2021
A great opportunity is available for a suitably experienced Speech and Language Therapist with skills in working with primary and secondary age students within special schools and mainstream schools.
You will join our large, integrated service, working collaboratively with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues, in addition to other Health and Education staff. Within this post you will have an opportunity to work alongside an established and large multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, specialist level management and support for children with learning and communication needs.
You will be expected to support the schools settings you are in to deliver high quality support within the classroom, which will include providing training, coaching, shared planning and modelling of specific approaches including the use of AAC. You will provide a high quality service to students with significant learning and communication difficulties. Experience of supporting students with dysphagia is desirable, but not essential.
You will be expected to have a keen interest and experience within a specialist clinical area relevant to the caseload and to take a lead on developing this across the whole Speech and Language Therapy team.
