Due to investment funding from North Tyneside CCG an exciting opportunity has arisen for a special school nurse, 25.5 hours term time hours, band 5 on a permanent contract. The post will primarily be based at Beacon Hill School in North Tyneside but will be required to work in all the special schools in North Tyneside as required.
The post requires good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be adaptable, reliable and approachable. You will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills. You will also have knowledge of recent changes within the NHS and current professional issues, including child protection.
You will be expected to support children with complex health needs within special schools in North Tyneside and provide clinical skills to children and young people within the service as well as holistic health assessments.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care in accordance with local and national policy in an integrated way to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.
You will have a good knowledge of the components of Clinical Governance, Risk Management, Audits and relevant Professional Codes.
