Further Information:

A Personal Assistant is required for 24 hours a week to support a lively and chatty disabled teenager who is a wheelchair user. The 24 hours are required for 12 hours on a Tuesday from 6pm to 6am (staying overnight) and on a Sunday from 7am to 7pm. The young man is an active gamer and ideally would be someone who can play games with him as well as assisting with all aspects of personal care (Training to use a hoist will be provided). The hours will change in September when sc3hool starts as help will be required for school runs, etc. A PA with a driving license would be an advantage as a car is available so that they can assist the young man to go to the pictures, bowling and other activities as they become available.
Applicants should also have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local community. In addition they should be honest, reliable, and good at communicating, tolerant and non-judgemental and able to build good relationships based on trust and respect.
