There is a genuine occupational requirement for a female worker, and therefore only applications from females will be considered*.


A Female Personal Assistant is required for 17 hours per week:

Tuesday morning – 8am start for 1½ hours

Tuesday evening – 6.30pm to 10pm

Wednesday morning- 1½ hours (flexible start between 8 and 9.30 am)

Friday morning- 8am to 12pm

Saturday morning call- 1½ hours

Sunday - 8am to 1pm

This lady is very sociable and is the mother of a young daughter. She requires assistance in all aspects of daily living. The PA would be required to assist this lady with some personal care and therefore only female applicants will be considered.



The PA will also need to support with various domestic routines such as meal preparation, shopping and housework. In addition they will need to support this lady in attending appointments and accessing the community, such as going swimming, or out for a coffee. Potential PA’s must have a degree of common sense, particularly in relation to Child safety. They must also be supportive to the family (they parent differently) and must also be supportive to mum breastfeeding a younger child, cosleeping with her child, and preparing to home educate. This lady and her family have quite a strict routine and ways of doing things that are very important to their sense of wellbeing and their ability to manage on a day to day basis. This lady’s partner has a very bad allergy to cats so anyone with regular contact with cats causes a problem, as do perfumed product.

The PA would be in agreement not to smoke prior to coming into work, or during their working hours, because this lady is asthmatic. The work will involve actively supporting this lady in her role as a mother in a physical capacity. This will mean being physically active in order to keep up with a young toddler when out and about. The appointed PA will need to be comfortable attending and taking part in social activities outside the family home including swimming, going to play groups and the park.

Being a car driver with your own transport would be an advantage but this is not compulsory.

The position is subject to the applicant providing a satisfactory DBS disclosure, but the cost of the  DBS application will be met by the Local Authority.
