Summary

Independent Advocate

30 hours per week
Salary: £21,589 pro rata

We wish to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated person committed to individuals’ rights, to deliver independent advocacy support in RCT. The post holder will be supporting and representing disabled people and must be confident working with adults in a variety of situations within an advocacy service.

The post holder will be computer literate, with a high standard of written and verbal communication. They will be enthusiastic about working with people and will be skilled at prioritising and managing their workload. A sound knowledge of social care processes and an understanding of the advocacy requirements within Welsh legislation is desirable.

The position is based at our head office in Pontypridd, with travel throughout RCT, but may involve travel in other areas of Wales.

Dewis C.I.L is an independent voluntary organisation with an integrated management committee of disabled and non-disabled people. We particularly encourage disabled people and people with direct experience of disability to apply. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
