This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher to join the Mechanics of Advanced Materials Research Group at the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering. The research group (https://moamrg.co.uk/) has an outstanding international reputation in performing multi-disciplinary research. The work is funded by the EPSRC via the prestigious Adventurous Manufacturing Research Scheme, with an explicit aim of enabling discoveries that lead to new, disruptive technologies.
Post-graduate qualification to doctorate level or equivalent experience at a senior level is expected. Some experience of research in instrumentation and device development would be expected. Knowledge of electrical engineering and ultrasonic transducer design and manufacture is desirable, in the absence of which the candidate is expected to learn these skills during the course of the appointment.
The Research Associate will be primarily based in the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, with certain laboratory work conducted elsewhere at the University and beyond.
