The School of Natural and Social Sciences at University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Criminology and Policing.

The School comprises three Subject Communities—Social Sciences, Psychological Sciences, and Environmental Sciences—with over 1000 students and 50 academic, technician and administrative staff. Our Social Sciences provision is experiencing year-on-year growth and we are investing in its expansion.

The successful applicant would contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Criminology and to BSc Professional Policing. We are particularly looking to appoint individuals who can offer expertise in the following themes:

Evidence based policing

The successful applicant will be an engaging and innovative lecturer who shares our student-centred ethos, are ready to offer a high standard of support and are willing to make a positive contribution to the student experience. They will be expected to create opportunities within the curriculum for students to engage with external stakeholders and apply their learning in the community, helping them develop the skills and attributes required for fulfilling careers.

The appointees will be expected to develop a research portfolio leading to publication and wider impact, and they will have the opportunity support the supervision of research students. The Social Sciences subject community is submitting to UoA21 Sociology. Information on the Social Vulnerabilities Research Group within the School of Natural and Social Sciences can be found here .

Based at our attractive campus in Cheltenham, we offer a welcoming and positive working environment.
