Summary

We are delighted to announce that following increased funding, we are expanding the Psychiatric Liaison Service and welcome applications from mental health professionals to join our team in Yeovil.

Whether you're a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, if you're looking for a varied role in a team which bridges the gap between physical and mental health, this could be your next role.

The team offers high quality holistic assessments to young people under the age of 18 who present in the Acute General Hospital as a result of mental health issues, physical illness and distress. We also offer a 7-day follow up a liaison with other services as identified as part of the assessment, to check how the young person is doing.

You'll work collaboratively with colleagues in other teams, such as the Community CAMHS service, Social Care and Paediatrics, to offer a responsive service that places the young persons at the centre of all we do.

The acute paediatric ward has a Mental Health Link Nurse who you'll work closely with and you'll also benefit from the support of a full time Psychiatrist who is the Clinical Lead for the team.

You should be a team player with a willingness to teach and educate acute colleagues, improve mental health awareness, as well as a commitment to help develop the service further to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people within the acute hospital setting.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic expanding service, bespoke Liaison Psychiatry Training and a high level of Clinical Supervision and support.

The role includes working on a 7-day rota shift pattern and there is potential for flexibility where possible. Part time hours will be considered at 30 hours per week.
