Secondment / Fixed Term Contract: Deputy head of Safeguarding Children and Adults.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Safeguarding Children and Adults to work with the Avon Wiltshire Partnership NHS Trust Safeguarding Team for a one year secondment / fixed term contract.

About you:

As an ideal candidate you will be able to work independently and able to work with ambiguity and complexity with clear problem solving capability. You will demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and have the ability to work as part of a team You will have a track record for delivery of objectives to a high standard and on time. You will have an ability to improve services using Quality Improvement methodology and have an appetite to constantly seek improvements to ensure safeguarding is effective.

Experience of working within mental health and learning disabilities is desirable.

About the role:

This role requires excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and statutory requirements to be able to support health / social care staff and contribute to the multi-agency agenda. Experience of delivering training, safeguarding supervision and developing policies and procedures is required. There is a necessity to be able to work independently and have the ability to meet challenging deadlines. The ability to write reports and critically review information is a prerequisite.

The successful applicant will have an in depth understanding of safeguarding legislation, underpining principles and will be required to provide assurance in accordance with the commissioned standards and the NHSE Accountability and Assurance Framework 2015. Responsibilities are diverse and include working collaboratively with health providers, partner agencies and the ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of multiagency working.
