Maintenance Assistant
Salary: Up to £25,000
Location: Mobile role covering Birmingham Community Leisure Trust.

Our vision is the creation and maintenance of a first class range of healthy leisure and recreational activities and facilities to serve all parts of the community.
Established in 2015 the trust work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to revitalise the city's sport and leisure centres and offer value for money leisure services.

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team providing vital support to our 9 leisure centres across Birmingham.

You will provide a maintenance, service and repair function across a number of areas, including, but not limited to, redecoration of ceiling, walls and timber finishes, re-sanding and sealing of sports halls, repair of joinery items, repair, refurbishment and replacement of plumbing items, fixtures and fittings and lockers and changing areas.

Ideally, you will be plumbing qualified to NVQ Level 3, with previous experience of working within a similar role and environment.
You will have a good work ethic and the ability to self-motivate and remain calm under pressure. This role will involve interaction with customers, so it is important to always provide exceptional customer service and ensure you adhere to site security rules.

Holding the following certificates would be an advantage:

- First Aid at Work (Emergency First Aid)
- I.S.R.M National Pool Plant Operators Certificate
- Manual Handling Awareness Training

You will have access to a works van and supervise outside contractors where required to ensure high standards are maintained throughout our sites. Due to the nature of the work, you will be required to assist and support the ‘On-Call’ function as and when required outside of usual working hours.
