Energy aspects currently has an exciting opportunity for an Oil Markets Analyst to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Oil Markets Analyst, or Research Associate with prior commercial experience of covering energy related commodity markets, to join our global oil team and be part of our ongoing successful growth story.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensively analysing relevant oil market information, drawing out the most relevant trends and contributing to many of our publications, from regular reports to in-depth reports on particular oil market themes. Responsibilities will include understanding and keeping up to date with global energy market dynamics and drivers, building and maintaining data models, carrying out detailed analysis and contributing to the full cycle of our compelling written reports. Gathering and manipulating data from various sources
Modelling markets and scenarios
Producing analysis on the different parts of the global oil markets
Preparing or contributing to many of our written publications
Presenting our views to clients and the markets


Experience analysing commodity markets, preferably the oil or energy sector
Strong Excel and modelling skills
The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis
Strong attention to detail is a prerequisite for this role, including through the presentation of data and written English

Exposure to SQL Database
Experience modelling in Python, R, MATLAB and/or Eviews
