Summary

Job Overview for Apprentice Systems Technician

This is an opportunity for a great career with a local Technology company, for a young person/ school leaver, aged 16-24yrs to complete a much sought after Modern Apprenticeship. if you are aged under 29 yrs. you may apply, if specific criteria is met.
Based within BatchControl Systems , this apprenticeship will last between 12-18months , during which you will complete a Modern Apprenticeship Qualification in IT


What skills will I learn

Key responsibilities, for which full training will be provided, duties to include;

- Provide support on programming platforms
- Produce documentation to support systems
- Take part in testing of Systems
- Solving problems affecting customer client systems
- Use problem solving techniques and tools to identify technical issues
- Actively supporting the customer in all aspects of problem resolution, and keeping the customer informed and updated
- Undertaking technical training sessions and making effective use of lab time
What qualifications or qualities are required

NATIONAL 5 ( or equivalent ) OR ABOVE IN AN IT RELATED SUBJECT
NATIONAL 5 ( or equivalent ) IN MATHS AND ENGLISH
Lower grades may be considered dependant on experience/ alternative grades

Desirable skills and experience

- Some knowledge of software programming;
e.g. Visual Basic or a version of C
- knowledge of computer operating systems- required training can be provided
- Working knowledge of PC architecture/technology- required training can be provided
- Ability to understand and solve technical problems related to client applications.
- Investigating potential solutions using troubleshooting skills- required training provided


Opportunities for progression to degree level and engineering grades exist.


Hours of work are 37.5 Hrs/week based around a semi flexible working day
Office Location - Wardpark, Cumbernauld


Salary
Depending on age and experience (£8.5k to 15K).

Annual increments assuming candidate able to contribute at a level commensurate with the training provided.
