Business Travel Consultant
Full-time role (37.5 hour week) - Hull City Centre Offices
As a Business Travel Consultant, you will undergo training and development to assist the business travel team in the provision of an efficient, courteous, and responsive travel booking service to clients; ensuring travellers' requirements are met in accordance with their travel policies. You may initially specialise in only one type of travel booking, i.e. rail, hotel, domestic air etc. but the role will develop to handling all aspects of business travel.
You will be a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic individual who is comfortable dealing with customers at all levels, can demonstrate good interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads. Good communication skills and attention to detail are a must. Candidates who have recently undertaken a travel related course such as Travel and Tourism are preferred albeit applicants with a degree or equivalent qualification coupled with good geographical knowledge and ability to learn will also be considered.
Your focus will be:
•Ensure all hotels reservations adhere to company policy
•Ensure all hotels reservations are booked within city rate cap, secure client negotiated rate in preferred properties or lowest available room rate for non-preferred properties
•Achieve hotel savings where applicable, and maintain an accurate hotel savings log for SLA reporting
•Support the team with UK & Continental rail, online fulfilment and other travel services
•Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with preferred suppliers
•Ensure all business travel reservations are accurately handled, deadlines are met and correct documentation is provided in accordance with company policy and procedures.
•Be fully conversant with all travel related services offered by the company.
•Work as part of a team and to communicate effectively with others
•Attend and contribute to office/team meetings as appropriate
•Travel related course or degree is preferred
•A welcoming telephone manner
•Good worldwide geography and keen attention to detail
•Competency in Sabre/Galileo or other airline reservations system preferred
•Consideration will be given to candidates that have worked in leisure/flight centre/airline reservations
