Fugro is now seeking Assistant Drillers to join our Offshore Operations Department. Drillers are expected to carry out their activities in accordance with our health, safety and quality standards. This includes complying with method statements and contributing to improvements. Our successful candidates will receive a competitive hourly rate and benefit package. This is on a Zero Hour contract.

Roles and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Demonstrate a good understanding of hydraulic systems
• Demonstrate an understanding of the operating function of appropriate drilling equipment and ancillary plant (with relevant training as required). Suggest solutions for problems where appropriate.
• Assist with drilling operations a directed by the Driller, in accordance with project plans and method statements. Work in an organised and efficient manner, show initiative and support team performance
• Assist with required maintenance of drilling plant and associated equipment. Ensure all plant is fit for purpose by reporting any maintenance issues, defects or damage to the Driller or Supervisor
• Always Work safely, stop operations immediately in the event of any risk to the crew, the plant or ancillary equipment
• Assist the Driller with required reporting tasks
• Always Represent the Company in an appropriate manner, on and off shift

Required skills and experience

• Self-motivated and accountable individual
• Excellent team working skills
• A full driving licence.

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience in a marine or drilling environment would be preferable but is not essential
• Interest in developing a career in geotechnical drilling.
