Derriford Hospital is a teaching hospital and provides a wide range of acute and general hospital services including oncology and radiotherapy, paediatric, neurosciences and cardiothoracic. The emergency department is designated as a major trauma centre.

Band 5 Radiographer post: Full time.

We are the Major Trauma Centre for the region.
Successful candidates will be able to gain a wide range of experience including emergency department, general, orthopaedics, theatre, paediatrics, fluoroscopy, and dental radiography. We are committed to providing increased opportunities to gain more experience in specialist areas. We have introduced a CME morning once a month. The department supports role extension including administration of IV contrast and encourages radiographer commenting. The department uses an Insignia PACS system; our out-patient, ED and paediatric rooms are all DR.
This position carries a commitment to out of hours duties at Derriford Hospital and our peripheral sites, and you will be expected to work flexible hours across the week. The department takes student radiographers on placement from the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth; so you will be expected to be actively involved in their training and supervision. The department is also a training site for Radiologists from the Peninsula Radiology Academy. We also have Assistant Practitioners and reporting radiographers in post and are committed to developing the 4 tier structure.
