Cardiology @ OUH is about to embark on an exciting period of transformation and change in order to redevelop our current services to meet the ever changing needs of our patients. To support us on this journey we are looking to appoint a practice development nurse to contribute to the development of our excellent nursing teams within the Cardiac Angiography Suite.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated registered nurse to work at band 7 level to enhance practice development within the oxford Heart Centre at The John Radcliffe Hospital. This post involves working clinically within the Cardiac Angiography Suite supporting staff with competencies and training. It also involves working directly with patients, relatives and clinicians and will have a teaching component on the cardiac foundation course. The post holder will have the opportunity work strategically in the cardiac directorate and to work collaboratively with a dedicated team of Practice Development Nurses within the Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust.

Cardiac Angiography Suite consists of 5 Cardiac Catheter Labs, a 16 bedded Day Unit and a Recovery Unit. We provide emergency and elective care for patients requiring Interventional cardiology, Electro Physiology, TAVI, Devices and other structural procedures. The department provides 24/7 including emergency coronary intervention for myocardial infarction (PPCI).

We would like you to have experience of nursing within an interventional/theatre environment, have good time management and organisational skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and to have a cardiac specific academic course at masters level.
