Job Description

The Assistant Major Project Managers (MPM) are responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of major projects under their control. This includes input or control at pre-acceptance, post acceptance and delivery stages. The Assistant MPM will achieve this through the building and provision of safety focused coherent and relevant programmes for each project. Providing regular updates, as defined by the Head of Major Projects, to inform all relevant stakeholders of progress on each project.

The daily duties will include:

•The current MPM is going to be fully committed to a number of high-profile projects until the end of December
2019. Therefore an additional experienced person is required to support the current MPM in the delivery of his outer lying projects.
•To assist the current Major Project Manager in the delivery of client critical high-profile projects.
•To deliver all major projects whilst adhering to and where possible exceeding the following criteria:
Safety
Quality
Commercial performance, cost & value control, materials management, etc
Customer satisfaction
•To work in partnership with all stakeholders at all stages of the project life:
Design
Estimating / Commercial
Programming / Delivery
Customer/Client management
On site delivery
Project Closure
•Identification and mitigation of any risk to performance and Fulcrum reputation:
Safety
Commercial
Client/Customer
•Stakeholder Management:
Internal and external liaison with all invested stakeholders
Building relationships with all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have the following:

•Understanding of the importance of planning and delivery of projects as well as the importance of delivering as
promised to the client.
•IOSHH Managing Safely or equivalent.
•RASWA Supervisor/manager.
•The Assistant MPM must be able to demonstrate a proven history of successful project delivery on
complex projects in the areas of safety, commercial, stakeholder management.
•The Assistant MPM must understand the criticality, and be able to demonstrate the understanding, of the
relationship between Client/Customer and Service Provider along with the duties of each.
•The Assistant MPM should be able to demonstrate a prior history and understanding of contract/cost
management for projects under their control.
•Basic IT knowledge.
•Programme building.
•Basic contract management
•Team leadership/management.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

•The candidate should have experience in predominantly gas projects, but multi-utility would be an advantage.
•SCO 1,2,4,5 would be an advantage.
•CP / Authorising Engineer (Gas), SAP (Electricity) or similar (preferred).
•NVQ L3 or equivalent relative to utility operations (preferred).
