The recent devolution of health and social care budgets to Manchester Council represents an exciting opportunity for health and social care in Manchester. This has led to the merger of two Trusts to create Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) on 1stOctober 2017. As part of this merger and transformation the Obstetrics Division of the Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Services now provides services to pregnant women in Manchester, Trafford and Salford.
There are outpatient services at the Oxford Road Campus (ORC), Wythenshawe Hospital, Withington Community Hospital and Lanceburn Health Centre in Salford and in-patient services at the ORC and Wythenshawe Hospital. There is 24 hour resident obstetric consultant service at ORC. We also provide tertiary services to the Greater Manchester area and the North West.
This post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to practice Obstetrics at MFT working principally at the Oxford Road Campus.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and develop our service. Previous experience at Consultant level is desirable but not essential. Great care has been taken to ensure that there is appropriate access to professional development opportunities. To maximise both the quality of care for women, and the professional development opportunities for consultants, it is expected that the successful candidate will work across two sites.
There will only be one cross-site travel when working across sites. A flexible approach will be required of the successful applicant to suit the evolving health care landscape in Manchester.
