As the Lead Designer for LNDR, your role is to be a creative disruptor in the marketplace. You are hungry to be the expert of everything within each product category, every technology, and every detail. You are constantly curious, pushing the boundaries, and challenging the norm. You are proactive in finding creative solutions to create the best functional product in the marketplace. You are motivated by the opportunity to create performance wear products that will disrupt and redefine the active wear space with the advantage of a smaller team. • Responsible for designing and innovating for all product categories within women’s and men’s range
• Responsible for concepting design themes, colour palette, trim developments for every women’s and men’s range
• Responsible for creating, managing the design critical path, and meeting deadlines on time
• Create detailed CADs, tech packs, design/artwork/trim specifications and make necessary revisions throughout development
• Hand over full tech packs, fabric/trim developments, fabric/trim colour requests, style colourways, colour palette, artwork specs, fit/design reference garments over to the Product team
• Liaise closely with the Product team on every style to ensure the design/function/purpose is being successfully executed and implemented in bulk production
• Ownership of design/function/purpose in fit sessions and working with the developers and garment tech team to ensure amendments are clear and everything is made fit-for-purpose
• Exceptional dedication to the detail, performance, function, feel, fit for purpose, and execution of every product, resulting in the best product in its product category
• Demonstrate an innovative, and creative, product-first approach to critical thinking and decision-making above anything else
• Hyper aware of current sportswear performance trends, and an inquisitive hunger to be an innovator in the marketplace, and a step ahead against our competitors
• Evaluating the suitability of potential fabrics and trims, along with consideration for cost, lead time and minimums
• Outlining the testing requirements to the product development team for each style to ensure every style is fit for purpose, and the purpose of every style carried on through the entire product development process
• Working with the marketing/sales/ecommerce team to accurately communicate the fit, function, and unique selling points of each product
• Travel to factories, mills, tradeshows based in Europe, Middle East and/or Far East, whenever required for the betterment of the company/product
• Responsible for upholding and meeting critical deadlines in design/development process
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a professional role in clothing design
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a sportswear or activewear brand
• Experience working at a large global activewear company would be beneficial but not compulsory
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent design experience
• Experience designing both womenswear and menswear
• Experience designing technical performance sportswear
• Previous experience managing a small team and/or intern
• Motivated by the design goal of creating functional – fit for purpose styles with intentional end uses
• High-performer, entrepreneurial attitude with consideration to the entire business
• Have a keen interest in Active culture
• High knowledge in sportswear fabrics, and technical construction, global sourcing, direct fabric/trim development
• Goal-orientated, and aims to create and develop the best purposeful/functional products on the market
• Inquisitive nature and hunger to know everything being produced in the sportswear marketplace and how to be a step ahead against our competitors
• Knowledge of both North American and UK marketplace and trends
• Experience in working with global manufacturing partners (Europe and Far East)
• Excellent in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail, and organisational skills to meet all seasonal deadlines
• Personal accountability and integrity
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work positively within a team
