Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Swansea Bay University Health Board Strategy Team; Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response, (EPRR) either as a full time, permanent post, 2 year secondment or job share opportunity. Interviews will take place on the 12th November 2019.

The post holder will have significant responsibility to ensure that the Health Board is prepared to meet the demands of a business disruption, critical or major incident and is compliant with the statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), Health and Care Standards and The Health and Social Care Act 2012.

You will be proactive, enthusiastic, motivated dynamic and innovative and have the ability to cope well with a range of competing priorities. The role will require you to act as a dedicated EPRR Manager and advisory resource to interpret and apply the relevant legislation and guidance. You will be involved in driving forward the preparation for, response to and recovery from emergencies; protecting and maintaining public safety in emergencies will be paramount. You will be working closely with leads and teams across the Health Board, as well as partners from all agencies within a myriad of partnership and resilience fora. This post will have a pivotal role in supporting the response to any emergency incident by supporting the Head of EPRR.

It is desirable that the applicant has experience in an operational clinical role. Given the nature of the role applicants must be willing and able to work flexibly and under pressure to support operational teams to manage incidents effectively. The applicant should possess excellent organisational and analytical skills and be adaptable to changing requirements and deadlines. You will have very strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to convey complex information clearly and efficiently and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

The role will have an emphasis on capability development and would suit a keen and dynamic individual with an interest in emergency planning, project management and training and exercising. Training in the role will be available if required.

Due to the Health Board geographic area, the ability to travel is essential.
