We are looking to recruit an experienced administration manager to be responsible for managing our three SPAs (Single Point of Access) in the South West division of CLCH, plus some of our non-SPA admin functions. The SPAs support our community nursing teams, therapy teams, and specialist nursing teams in Merton and Wandsworth, plus the South West London Sexual Health service. The SPAs are responsible for receiving written referrals, processing them onto the clinical system, taking calls from patients to book, cancel or rearrange appointments, as well as generating standard letters, and undertaking various data quality tasks.

The successful candidate will be confident at working in a fast paced environment where priorities can change by the minute, but at the same time maintain a calm approach to ensure that systems and processes are followed at all times.

Previous experience of managing several teams in a high volume call / data centre environment is essential, but this experience does not necessarily need to be within the NHS. You will be passionate about ensuring that your teams provide excellent customer care on the telephone, as well as ensuring that they carry out data processing to the highest standards of accuracy and speed. You will be extremely competent in the use of excel – for example to interrogate data, to present data internally and externally, for use as a tool for documenting processes, and as a tool for competency checking.

The core opening hours for the SPAs are Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm. There is some out of hours provision until 8pm Mondays – Fridays, and also from 8am – 5pm at weekends and bank holidays. The successful postholder will mainly work their 37½ hours each week during the core hours, but there is a requirement for them to be available on rare occasions in the non core hours for training / monitoring purposes. This postholder will take part in a weekend on call / standby rota on the basis of 1 weekend in 3, or 1 weekend in 4 for which agenda for change provision will apply.

You will be based in our bright and airy offices at the Civic Centre, Morden,SM4 5DXwhich is well served for public transport links and has spectacular views of London. It is a 2 minute walk from Morden underground station on the Northern Line and several bus routes. It is also about a 10 minute walk from Morden Tram station, South Merton overground and Morden South overground stations.
