Summary of the Role

o Are you passionate about technology & producing eLearning content which engages and excites? Would you like to apply your digital skills working for one of the UK's leading award-winning online degree providers, in a small, innovative Learning Technology Team alongside like-minded committed colleagues?

o We take pride in providing a first-class digital learning experience and support service for our online students. We need an Instructional Designer to design and build creative and engaging digital learning content targeted at a variety of audiences locally and internationally

o To succeed in this role, the candidate needs to be both open to learning, and conceptually minded, with expert digital and computer skills along with a proven competence using video production and editing software e.g. Camtasia, iMovies, Lightworks, Windows Moviemaker.

Key Responsibilities

Based at our offices in Leeds City Centre, this is an exciting and varied role which provides the opportunity for a creative, committed person to make a real impact. You will:

• play an essential role in the design and production of creative online content, including visual animations, video and lecturecast material, supporting the team with the production of eLearning materials for students to study from. • display a passion for learning technology across a variety of platforms, and strong digital acumen. • work closely with academic subject matter experts in a range of subjects from Criminology to Healthcare, to Business and Law and other stakeholders. • consistently be able to deliver high-quality content to deadline.
Essential Skills

• At least 1 - 2 years of experience working in the creative industry / digital-design agency or creative technology department • Expert skills & experience creating multimedia content using video editing software • Willingness to learn new software & the ability to follow a content creation process, including design principals. • Experience of editing, embedding & uploading audio & video content onto and elearning platform • Excellent attention to detail & both written & verbal English communication skills • Self-sufficient, with a strong eye for good, aesthetic eLearning design • Experience of using rapid authoring and AV tools used to create online learning resources (e.g. Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) • The ability to self-motivate, demonstrating taking appropriate initiative, managing multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and deadlines • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail • Must be creative minded with a passion for creative design, including an understanding of current web technologies, trends and developments
Desirable Skills

• Qualification to degree level in digital marketing, multimedia, or related design discipline preferred. Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite & Audition. • Knowledge or experience of the UK and international Higher Education sector, though not essential, would be desirable. • Familiar with recognised web usability and accessibility standards & recognised elearning technical standards, e.g. SCORM, ensure they are adhered to where appropriate

The role would suit someone with experience working as a graphic designer, e-learning designer, instructional designer, or learning technologist.
