Residential SEND Support Worker who has BSL / Special Educational Support Worker with a British Sign Language Qualification - Killingworth

A SEND BSL Support Worker / Special Educational Support worker with a British Sign Language qualification is required for a long-term placement in Killingworth.
The role will be supporting the children with their day to day needs and ensuring they are always having a fantastic day. We require an adaptable SEND Support Worker / Special Needs Support Worker who is caring in their approach. The students are vulnerable and need that bit of extra support with their communication so a qualification in BSL is a must. You will need to be patient, caring and understand each individual child’s needs.

The ideal BSL Support Worker / British Sign Language Support Worker will have:
• NVQ in health and social care
• NVQ Level 2 in BSL / British Sign Language
• SEND experience
• Challenging Behaviour and Personal Care experience
• Positive approach to supporting the children
• The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
• Moving and handling training
