A renowned wholesaler of quality food products seeks an experienced bookkeeper with a friendly personality to work in their busy work environment

The primary area of responsibility is to assist in achieving accurate and timely accounting information, sound financial controls and financial process improvements, and a consistent approach across several businesses.

Successful candidate will work closely with team of financial and non-financial experts


Recording financial transactions
Dealing with account receivable and payable.
Managing ledgers.
Raising Invoices & Processing expenses including variance analysis.
Assist in preparing VAT returns
Assist to process payroll and submitting monthly returns to HMRC online
Prepare monthly management accounts for managers and report on performance
Prepare monthly accounts reconciliations
Assist with preparation of Year –End activities and audit
Maintain Asset Registers and Inventory Control Systems.
Provide administrative and clerical support when required
Any other additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management

• Be part qualified AAT; ACCA intermediate levels or QBE with previous experience in similar role.
• Experience in use of accounting software Sage/Sage Payroll or other software is essential.
• PC literate and adequate application of Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt flexible approach to meet needs of business
• Strict attention to details
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High sense of initiative, professional, customer focussed, and innovative.
• Excellent telephone manners combined with good organisation and administrative skills are required.
