The Northamptonshire Clinical Commissioning Groups have statutory responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding and Looked after Children. The CCGs Designated professionals have a critical role to play in supporting the CCGs and wider partnership to ensure that we are commissioning and our providers are delivering the best possible care for the children and young people of Northamptonshire.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking Designated Nurse. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years registration on either Part 1 of the NMC register as a registered children’s nurse, or Part 3 as a specialist community public health nurse, having completed a specific programme with a child and family focus.
The post holder will be expected to working alongside the Designated Doctors and Nurses, to lead and support all activitis necessary to ensure that the CCG’s commissioned services are meeting their statutory responsibilities for Safeguarding and Looked After Chilren (LAC). Providing assurance to the CCG’s, Northamptonshire Safegaurding Boards and Corporate Parenting Board that all such services meet legislative requirements, corporate and system-wide objectives for Safegaurding and Looked After Children (including Care Leavers).
The success candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the statutory guidance and legislation in relation to Safeguarding and looked after children, care leavers, fostering and adoption and unaccompanied asylum seeking.
