Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates for a Highly Specialist physiotherapist to work within the Hillingdon Acute Therapy Team, Inpatient Orthopaedics.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working within an integrated therapy team and continue to develop strong multidisciplinary working within a dynamic acute setting. There is scope to continue to develop new services and formulate new care pathways for patients within a supportive and friendly department and with our Hillingdon partnership.
This post would suit a therapist with extensive acute experience working within an Inpatient Orthopaedic setting with both Trauma and Elective patients. This team also cover inpatient orthopaedic Paediatric patients and outpatient Amputees. Ideally they should have a strong orthopaedic knowledge base, be effective with early walking aids and prosthetic rehabilitation, and have good clinical assessment skills and experience working as an autonomous practitioner as well as part of a team.
The appointee will join the existing multi-disciplinary team, and work in conjunction with their therapy team across Medicine, Surgery and Orthopaedics. The post holder will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and stakeholders involved in the provision of integrated care, to ensure joined up care for patients across acute, community and primary and secondary care settings. A collaborative approach ensures a comprehensive patient centred service is provided.
As a senior specialist therapist you will be expected to play an active part in the development of the service and promoting evidence based practice, alongside regular audit and teaching / supporting within the department.
We work in operationally integrated therapy teams, and you would be expected to provide leadership for the Orthopaedic Therapy team in conjunction with the Senior Occupational Therapist, and work with the Therapy Team Leads and Inpatient Therapy Manager in continuously developing aspects of the therapy service.
You must be HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist. The ideal candidate will also be a member of the CSP and a relative special interest group. They will be hard working, adaptable, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation and have a commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development
