We have a brilliant opportunity for two Mental Health Practice Lead?s to join our services in Newcastle. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and a second Mental Health Practice Lead where you?ll support Home Group to deliver clinically informed support practices to in excess of 150 beds of supported accommodation. Our customers face a wide range of challenges which includes mental health and complex needs and we support people aged from 16 to 60 years old across three main services within Newcastle upon Tyne. In addition to this you will complement the practice of our amazing staff who already provide housing support to help our customers achieve their aspirations and gain greater independence. This is a really exciting time for us as we work with our Commissioners and key stakeholders across the City to become market leaders in New Models of care. We?re creating new ways of integrating health and social care into housing, and form part of a wider group that seeks to eradicate street homelessness in Newcastle. It?s imperative that you are a trailblazer (like us) and have an energy that befits this challenge.

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you?ll be developing our Support Workers to ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety, recovery, wellbeing and maximises customers independence.

As an experienced clinician, you?ll lead practice development, developing and delivering specialist training packages to our colleagues, embedding core competencies as well as oversight of clinical supervision. You?ll also be the point of contact for individual support and coaching of the Managers in our services. You?ll be really enhancing colleagues? knowledge and skills, promoting regular, honest and supportive feedback.

You?ll be shaping our services, developing essential standards and quality outcomes. With customer care at the forefront of everything we do, you will inspire others and advocate a philosophy of care that is person centred, maintains dignity, independence and ensures it is right for that person at that time.

You?ll enable us to maintain high standards of support and intervention to contribute to achieving the Care Quality Commission Essential Standards.

On a day to day basis you will report to our Housing Partnership Manager with your clinical supervision provided by our Clinical Practice Team. You will also work alongside our Operations Manager Andy who is really passionate about housing but also loves to find that work-life-balance to ensure that he gets his adrenalin fix through extreme sports. As a newly formed team it?s imperative that we meet on a regular basis to shape and deliver our services but don?t worry it won?t all be work work work. There?s always time for cuppa and natter.

A bit about you

It goes without saying that you?ll be a Registered Mental Health Nurse and hold relevant professional qualifications. You?ll have experience of working with young people and adults with ill mental health as well as managing, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating training to colleagues on an individual and group basis.

You?ll have an eye for detail, being able to analyse complex data and make expert judgements. You?ll really impress us with your ability to unleash the potential of colleagues through offering clinical advice, coaching, mentoring and training. You?ll also bring a creative spark and ability to understand where our customers are in their lives, using evidence based practice, care delivery and current occupational therapy based interventions.

As the role covers our services across Newcastle upon Tyne, you'll need to have a full current driving licence and access to a car for work purposes with business insurance cover. We'll pay you for your mileage.
